Italian speaking volunteers at the Italian Community
We are looking for Italian-speaking volunteers who can visit residents living in the two senior citizens’ housing facilities (Villa Carital and Casa Serena) or possibly other residential locations, upon request of the families. The Italian Cultural Centre is connected to two senior citizens' housing facilities:

The Italian Canadian Family Counselling Society offers free counseling to individuals and families residing in the Lower Mainland that are in difficult situations due to: physical, psychological and verbal abuse; neglect and other forms of abuse; substance abuse including (but not limited to) drugs, alcohol and other controlled substances; gambling and internet addiction; generational conflicts, or others.
The Italian Canadian Family Counselling Society provides a service of assistance that includes emotional support, the dispensing of general information, and referral to more specific assistance programs.
Counsellors are fluent both in English and Italian, familiar with Italian culture and tradition; therefore they can assure respect and cultural sensibility to their clients and maximum confidentiality. All services are free of charge and by appointment only.
