The play “Le maschere di Carnevale – The Carnival masks”, written and directed by Patrizia De Cillis, will be put in place by “I Giullari”.
This is an event log awaited by families and kids at this time of the year.
On the stage we will see six well known Commedia dell'Arte characters: Arlecchino, Colombina, Pulcinella, Rugantino, il Dottor Balanzone and Pantalone.
In Italy Carnival celebrations often take place in public parades where you can enjoy playful and imaginative elements. For multiple weekends, between January and February, people in Italy celebrate Carnival with sweeping parades, masks and a bunch of brightly colored confetti (coriandoli and stelle filanti). You can find traditional Carnival sweets in the bakeries and plenty of tricks and mischief. After all, we use to say “a Carnevale, ogni scherzo vale!” That means, anything goes during Carnival.
Let’s have a burst of color in these cold and grey wintertime, come and enjoy the Carnival play with us!
