About the event
The Italian Cultural Centre, in collaboration with the Consulate General of Italy in Vancouver and the Consulate General of Switzerland in Vancouver, as part of the Settimana della Lingua Italiana nel Mondo (Week of the Italian Language in the World), is pleased to present a special free screening of Papaya 69, the debut feature film by Swiss-Italian directors Riccardo Bernasconi and Francesca Reverdito.
Blending drama and dark comedy, Papaya 69 tells the story of two young women on the margins of society whose unexpected meeting sparks a journey of friendship, self-discovery, and redemption. Eva, a South American woman fleeing an abusive relationship, and Rainbow, a former child TV star still trapped by the character that once made her famous, must each confront their past and reclaim their future.
