This fall, Il Centro comes together to celebrate a special milestone: 49 years of celebrating Italian culture, traditions and community in Vancouver.
MEDITERRANEO: “Shore to Shore” tells the story of a journey that began across the Mediterranean and found a new home on the shores of Vancouver. Inspired by the story of our 2026 Il Centro Hall of Fame honouree, Elio Luongo, whose family migrated from the Campania region of Italy to Canada, the theme reflects the journey of so many Italian families who crossed an ocean carrying with them their traditions, values, stories and hopes for a new life.
From one shore to another, those traditions evolved into a vibrant Italian-Canadian community—and for 49 years, Il Centro has been a place where that connection continues to live. This special evening is a celebration of where we came from, where we are today, and the community we continue to build together.
